How do they do that?

How do 12 people balance on top of each other, flip through hula hoops, balance on tight ropes, spin plates on a stick while doing flips, and perform Ariel ballet to a beautiful love story? Believe it or not, it is  all at the Acrobats of China!

The Acrobats of China is a riveting 2 hour show that leaves you with the same yearning question act after act…how do they do that? With each segment you are amazed at the incredible talent and skills that each member of the casts obtains.  It is truly unbelievable!  The years of dedication to prepare their talents are in which each member exemplifies will keep your eyes peeled and your jaws dropped the entire show!

Legends In Concert

It’s Legendary.

Where can you say that you met legends: Martina McBride, The Temptations, Elvis Presley, The Blues Brothers, and Michael Jackson? At Legends in Concert of course! Located at the Dick Clark American Bandstand Theatre, this show is a must see! With a changing line up each season—you’re sure to see a brand new show 4 times a year! 

During this 2 hour action packed show, you are awe struck at the fact that these tribute artists have captured the essence of the stars we love! Playing the chart-topping hits, every member of the audience is sure to know at least one song of the portrayed artist.  Songs such as Shout sang by the Blues Brothers, This One’s For The Girls sang by Martina McBride, My Girl sang by the Temptations, Black and White by Michael Jackson, and Jailhouse Rock from Elvis were only just a few of the songs performed!

The Legend of Kung Fu
 

Everybody was Kung-Fu fighting! 

If you are looking for a top-notch, high class, compelling story that will make you feel like you are sitting in a New York City Broadway production…then I have a show for you!

Since their arrival in Branson in 2010, the Legend of Kung Fu has been the talk of the town as their performance is remembered from the 2008 Beijing Olympic opening ceremonies as millions watched with amazement. 

The Legend of Kung Fu is a captivating production that will keep you on the edge of your seat for the entire 2 hours! The inspirational story of Chun Yi, a boy who must learn how to obey discipline, avoid temptation, learn loyalty, build friendships, and understand sacrifice, will amaze people of all ages with its breathtaking demonstration of Kung Fu and aerial ballet, beautiful artistic scenery, and special effects.  Scene after scene, you’ll be left with wanting more!   

As one of Branson’s largest casted production, each member amazes you with their physical ability to capture the art of Kung Fu.  From the small children who leave your jaw dropped when they do flips on top of their head to the older members who are able to break shoots of bamboo across their bodies, lay on top of sharpened swords, and break concrete blocks on their stomachs! It is truly incredible!  And believe me that’s not all! They even do aerial ballet!The breathtaking scene will leave you in tears from the performer’s unbelievable talent, beauty, and grace!

Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede

The Globe Trotter is back and I’m arriving back with style…back in the saddle style!

I experienced the All-American feel good show where it’s A-OKAY to eat with your hands, whoop and holler, and stomp your feet…all at the dinner table! The Dixie Stampede is no doubt, Branson’s most fun place to eat!

As you make your way into the beautiful Dixie Stampede theater you are overwhelmed with the extravagant beauty of Southern Style Decor.  Oh yeah...did I mention the rows and rows of beautiful horses that you are able to see!  It's so much fun!

I purchased my ticket and made my way into the arena.  I took my seat on the South side.  The atmosphere was exhilarating as the crowd began to build with excitement!  It wasn't long before the emcee get both sides rivaled up as he fed each of us lies about the opposing side! It was time to get the show started...but not until we received the first course of our meal!  The oh so good creamy vegetable soup!

It was the perfect combination of dinner and a show with a little bit of healthy competition between the North and South.  Each side competed in unique style races including: barrel racing, miniature horse races, pig races, toilet seat toss, and so much more! Not to mention the jaw dropping trick riders that showed us their amazing skills! 

By the time the races began, I was already getting stuffed to the gills eating an entire feast!  Dinner consisted of an entire whole rotisserie chicken, smoked barbeque tenderloin, herb-basted potatoes, corn on the cob, homemade biscuits, and unlimited refills on Pepsi, tea, or coffee! Oh yeah, and don’t forget the incredible apple turnover for dessert! Pfeww...it was delicious!

As we finished our dinners, the competition continued.  Battle after battle, each side consistently pulled through…but in the end, the South was victorious and it was time to celebrate!

And it was a celebrtaion indeed! A celebration that allowed both the North and the South to show their appreciation and love for the United States.  The Dixie Stampede put on a tribute for America that would make any American proud! Go see this spectacular production!

Yakov Smirnoff Christmas Show

If you want to experience a feel good laughter filled show see Yakov Smirnoff. A show with plenty of variety you will find yourself wanting more and wishing the fun would never stop.

The show starts off with a musical number making you wonder what is going to happen next and question if you accidentally walked into the wrong show. But then Yakov appears on the stage and begins a standup comedy routine, and the audience falls in love with the hilarious Russian comedian. He conveys his heartwarming humor by telling jokes through personal stories about his humorous past.

I had always wondered how a Russian comedian was able to fit into an All American place like Branson, but Yakov makes it apparent in his show that he loves America with all his heart as he poses as the President of the United States and takes questions from the audience. Next he explains comical differences between Russia and America making the audience roll with laughter. But your laughter will never subside because then he describes his move from Los Angeles to Branson, and the even bigger culture shock he experienced. Every joke he makes has the entire crowd howling because Yakov knows just how to hit the spot.

Fitting right in with the show Yakov tells heartwarming stories about love and laughter tying it into the merry season of Christmas. Even though it may sound a little corny, I’m sure almost everyone in the audience gets a warm comforting feeling in their hearts. Every one of his stories has a moral. Yakov teaches us to be happy with who we are to find peace and contentment. And that money doesn’t buy happiness, but love and laughter is the key to everything.

You leave feeling blessed and full of holiday cheer, because Yakov has shown you how jovial and entertaining he can be. Love, laughter, and top notch hilarity are all things you will get to enjoy in this show. Couples will delight in Yakov’s stories of love, children will be fascinated by the musical numbers and action scenes, and everyone will laugh along with Yakov’s jokes.

Paul Revere and the Raiders

You want to rock out and hear some fantastic music? Well if so this is the show for you. In this show you get to see two legendary bands, Bill Haley’s Original Comets, and Paul Revere and the Raiders. Even though the original members from these bands are in their 70’s and 80’s they have more than enough energy to rock the stage.

The show starts with Bill Haley’s Original Comets who light up the theatre with their fun and catchy tunes. They play some of their iconic hits such as “Rock Around the Clock,” “Shake Rattle and Roll,” and “See You Later Alligator.” Everyone in the audience is tapping their feet to the beat and even sometimes singing along. People of all ages seem to be able to get into this music.

After intermission Paul Revere and the Raiders take the stage and began their extraordinarily entertaining show. Original member and front man Paul Revere steals the show with his hilarious antics. I now know why he was nicknamed “Mad Man” of the group. Even though Revere is reaching his mid 70’s there is never a moment in the show where I thought he would run out of energy or spunk. His quality showmanship and polished act left me wishing the performance would never end.  The audience rocked out to some of his most famous songs such as, "Kick," "Louie Louie," and "Indian Reservation." Never before have I seen a show with so much great music and fun, wrapped together to create perfection.

The World Famous Platters

Sit back, relax, and sing along. That’s how it feels to see the World Famous Platters at Branson’s Starlite Theatre. The Platters have a stage presence that draws you in and makes you feel like singing and even getting out of your seat and dancing. In fact during the show you might see some pretty hilarious audience participation, and if that’s not enough reason to go see this show, I don’t know what is!

While listening to the music of The Platters I realized how “World Famous” they are. I went into the show not knowing much about their music and thinking that I wouldn’t recognize many, or any, of their songs. But to my surprise The Platters sang iconic hits that even I knew such as, “The Great Pretender,” “Only You,” and “Smoke Gets In Your Eyes.” I have been hearing these songs on the radio and in movies my whole life and never knew who sang them but now I had the pleasure to see them performed live!

But The Platters don’t just sing their own original songs; they also get the crowd riled up with great Motown hits from the past. Next thing you know you will be jamming to your favorite Tina Turner song, or moving your feet along to a Michael Jackson or Ray Charles hit. They sing such a variety of music that it is impossible not to fall in love with this show over and over again.

This live show is nothing short of exciting as people of all ages get into the music and clap their hands. The show is romantic, whimsical, nostalgic, sentimental, and definitely something that you don’t want to miss. Make sure to not miss out; see it before the show season ends.
